Volunteer

Volunteers Make all the Difference!

Do you have an interest in history or would you like to learn more about the Santa Ynez Valley, its five distinct towns, pioneering families or what early Valley life was like? Maybe you have a special talent, a lifetime of experience, or a little free time you’d like to share?

If so, we invite you to come explore the volunteer opportunities at the Santa Ynez Historical Museum. The Historical Museum is a great place to meet new friends, to learn about local history and to have some fun, too!

Our exhibitions, events and educational activities have generated enthusiasm here at the Museum and we hope you will join us in our efforts to bring the history of the Santa Ynez Valley alive for both adults and children. We value and appreciate our volunteers and understand that without them we would not be able to fulfill the museum’s mission through exhibits, programs, library archives and historical collections.

Volunteers are our lifeblood and we are grateful for them!

A variety of volunteer opportunities are available, both working with the public and behind the scenes. Some of these opportunities are:

  • Museum Front Desk Greeter
  • Hospitality at Openings and Events
  • Event and Exhibit Planning
  • Saddle & Tack cleaning
  • Light Carpentry/ Painting
  • Administrative Assistant / Clerical
  • Historian / Scrapbook / Upkeep / Photograph

Preserving our past for future generations is an incredible legacy and we invite you to be a part of making this happen. For more information about volunteer opportunities at the historical museum please contact Krissy Castillo, Executive Director, at (805) 688-7889 or email [email protected].
